What would you do? #16

Villian is a 40/27/.8 over 15 hands.

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players - http://www.thehandconverter.com/hands/348586
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN): $62.30
SB: $11.00
BB: $23.50
UTG: $27.05
UTG+1: $10.00
UTG+2: $73.80
MP1: $24.10
MP2: $19.25
CO: $57.75

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BTN with Ks Qh
6 folds, Hero raises to $1.50, 1 fold, BB calls $1

Flop: ($3.25) Qs Jh 6s (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2, BB calls $2
Flopped top pair. Nothing too exciting, but there are 2 spades out there.

Turn: ($7.25) 6d (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $5, BB calls $5
No reason to slow down here, I'm going to keep betting for value.

River: ($17.25) Ah (2 players)
BB bets $15 all in, Hero ???
He has definitely reached the commitment threshold by the river. However, I am content with a cheap showdown / check behind river. What do you do?

  1. That's a pretty terrible card, and I just don't see why he would think it was a good card to bluff. So I think it's a pretty easy fold. AJ/AQ/KT all get there. The only hand you beat is something like T9 that is making a suicidal bluff here. Pretty unlikely IMO.

  2. noldmax - When you click to see results, do the results appear? For whatever reason, people have reported that they cannot see the results.

  3. Meister,

Yeah, I can see the results. That's a nice little feature I may try to pull into my blog too.

So you made the call here - what was your reasoning? It ended up being good, but it seems a little desperately optimistic, no?

  4. I saw the card as he saw the card: A great bluff card. If he was on a KT draw or had AQ AJ the whole way, good. But the pot is above his stack, and I don't think, at this point, I can lay it down. Essentially, given the stack sizes, I'm committed. I felt like he changed his story midway through the hand... i.e. he was on a draw the whole way and missed his draw. When I called, I felt like it was a 2:3 chance I was good. The pot odds were 2:1, offering a bargain for that call.
