No reason to slow down here, I'm going to keep betting for value.

BB bets $15 all in, Hero ???
He has definitely reached the commitment threshold by the river. However, I am content with a cheap showdown / check behind river. What do you do?

That's a pretty terrible card, and I just don't see why he would think it was a good card to bluff. So I think it's a pretty easy fold. AJ/AQ/KT all get there. The only hand you beat is something like T9 that is making a suicidal bluff here. Pretty unlikely IMO.

ReplyDeleteMeister,
ReplyDeleteYeah, I can see the results. That's a nice little feature I may try to pull into my blog too.
So you made the call here - what was your reasoning? It ended up being good, but it seems a little desperately optimistic, no?
I saw the card as he saw the card: A great bluff card. If he was on a KT draw or had AQ AJ the whole way, good. But the pot is above his stack, and I don't think, at this point, I can lay it down. Essentially, given the stack sizes, I'm committed. I felt like he changed his story midway through the hand... i.e. he was on a draw the whole way and missed his draw. When I called, I felt like it was a 2:3 chance I was good. The pot odds were 2:1, offering a bargain for that call.
