WTF, Full Tilt? I think it's great that you roll out software updates with frequency. They're bettering the user experience, making the game more secure, and encouraging more players to join. Kudos! I think you're probably the most innovative online site out there. However, what happened last night?
I [finally] get the kiddies to bed, fire up HEM, TableNinjaFT, and the Full Tilt client. I wait for an update. I finally get in, and sit down to 6 tables, using their new table search feature. I get dealt into my first hand of the night - then poof! Nothing works. Kinda pissed; I probably lost my first hand of the night, losing 1BB. I figure it's my computer, so I shut down the client and restart. Nothing. The little Full Tilt splash screen alternates between "connecting..." and "connected..." Okay; maybe I need a restart of the entire computer. Same thing. Maybe my computer's networking has gone haywire. Try my upstairs computer. I don't even get an update; simply a cannot connect. Fire off an email to tech support about how much this sucks. Look for Full Tilt's online status, which says they're running normal and fine. The short of it is it took nearly 2 hours for them to update their status to "Down for scheduled maintenance" which is BS! They were down from 8:00PM until at least after I went to bed at around 12:00AM
Hey Full Tilt: How bout you credit me for the Iron Man day I missed? How bout you give me an extra day to compete my mid year bonus? Finally, how bout you credit me the BB I missed because your software / servers locked me out?
Is Full Tilt working now? If I come home tonight and sit down to play, will I be able to be dealt into a hand?

Iron Man Bonus follow-up
This weekend, with the help of my co-conspirator omgitsjoshua, we conducted a little experiment to try to convert Iron Man medals into real coin. It was an absolute success. I googled the optimal strategy of converting Iron Man medals and came up with the following:
After further research, it appears that the $75 tokens are the way to go with the Iron Man medals. If you can find someone with a $75 token as well, you can set up a private HU game and either chop or transfer after the game is over. The rake will be $6 / person, so you're essentially getting $69 ($69 + $6 tourney from a $75 token) in return, but the cost is 400 medals: $0.1725 / medal. This is in opposition to the $600 bonus, costing 3000 medals, which after rakeback "paid back" & re-earned, amounts to a real total bonus of $438: $0.146 / medal (remember that the $600 bonus money costs earnings in rakeback). As an added bonus, the $75 token route includes no additional "work"; i.e. you don't need to earn your bonus like you would if you chose the $600 bonus.
Omgitsjoshua & I decided to play out the actual tournament, and split the winnings afterward, for bragging rights. Omgitsjoshua set up a 3000 chip, deep stacked match. The match included a lot of trash talking by both parties, and after about 100 hands, it was settled. I am 1-0 in our Iron Man Medal token series. I suspect I did get better cards, though. I hit a set once (33) and was dealt QQ, AK & 55. It will be 2 months to recoup the medals and play again.
To set up a private tournament, simply send an e-mail to privatetournaments@fulltiltpoker.com with all of the following information regarding the tournament you want set up:

That's everything, but here are a few other things to be sure to watch for:
The tournament's name can not exceed 25 characters.
The time you choose is clear (If you want a tournament at 4 PM, don't just write 4:00, write 16:00 SERVER TIME). All unlabeled time zones are interpreted as SERVER TIME, which is US ET.
The entry fee must be at least 10% of the buy-in.
The password must be all lower case letters without spaces.
If you want a tournament with something other than a nine player minimum, make that clear in your e-mail.

Iron Man FAQ for rakeback users
I've been trying to find out information on usage of Full Tilt's Iron Man bonuses. I was able to find the following, which I think is fairly definitive. Any disagreements? My end goal is to purchase a 600 medal backpack.
From Online Poker Forum - 600 dollar ironman bonus:
1] Using FTP points will deduct your MGR by $0.005 per point used.
>> Well known; the short of it is that the normal points clearly detract from your future rakeback.
2] Cash bonuses reduce your MGR by the face value of the bonus ($100 bonus = -$100 MGR)
>> Interesting; I have not experienced this at all - I have yet to receive a bonus which affects my rakeback, but I'm not following it all that closely. My earlier "Take 2" (April, 2009) bonus did not seem to affect rakeback, nor did the "Biggest Bonus Ever" (July, 2009) promotion. Perhaps this relates only to cash bonuses purchased in the Iron Man store?
3] Iron Man mid year, and Iron man year end bonuses have not affected Rakeback in the past, we assume this continues to be the case.

2.) Fraud, bouncing checks, or payments
3.) Playing a tournament where more money is paid out then is taken in. Example, if there's a $1000 prize pool in a tourney and 500 players each pay $1. There is a $500 overlay, the overlay is divided by the number of players in the tournament and each player gets an equal amount of negative MGR. In this case, 500 players and $500 overlay, means each player would get -$1.00 MGR.
