Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is MP2 with 3h 3c
3 folds, MP1 raises to $1.75, Hero calls $1.75, 2 folds, SB calls $1.50, 1 fold

Flop: ($5.75) 6d 7h 7c (3 players)
SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $3.25, SB raises to $8, MP1 folds, Hero ???
I figure to stab at the pot, which is a fairly good board for an underpair.  Are you calling his raise?  What's your plan for later streets?

Hero calls $4.75
I just can't believe him for wanting to build a pot with MP1 still to act.  If he has a 7 or flopped boat, I think he doesn't want to push MP1 out.  Therefore, this raise wreaks of weakness and altogether bullying.  However, right here, I'm not looking to build a pot with my vulnerable pair.

My plan is to lead again on the turn with a safe non-connecting card and close the door to his potential draw.

Turn: ($21.75) 8s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks
Crappy card because a semi-bluffed OES just hit TP.  He could have been on a draw and hit a better pair.

River: ($21.75) Th (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks
Since he's content to check down, so am I.

Final Pot: $21.75
Hero shows 3h 3c (two pair, Sevens and Threes)
SB shows Ad Qh (a pair of Sevens)
Hero wins $20.70
(Rake: $1.05)

  1. nice hand. This is one of those "no way he hit that board" type of hands on each side.

I only consider your play because you're in position. Out of position, you won't be able to control the action, and have to let the underpair go, IMO
