Hero calls $68.50
How often is a KQ turned straight raising the turn, and for [what feels like] a funky amount of $22.50? $21? $28? Yeah. $22.50? Hmmm, not so much. The overbet river is suspect too. Is a made hand putting out a bet that's trying to push me off my hand?

I feel like I'm more likely to see sets and two pair hands in this spot than the Q. This was a sick sick call.

Final Pot: $196.00
BB shows 6h 7h (Ace King high)
Hero shows 8h 7s (a straight, Jack high)
Hero wins $193.00

  1. Uh, yeah, that was a sick call. I don't think I would have called on the turn, let alone the river.

I don't completely buy that the turn bet is inconsistent with a queen for the straight. The river bet does seem a bit odd though. Great call, and it definitely got me thinking.

  2. Do alot of players make hands with showdown value (2 pair/sets) into bluffs at .50/$1?
