  1. why c-bet this board? You are at the upper end of your range, but cannot stand a check raise. Why not check it and get value down the road? If he has nothing, you could induce a bluff. If he has worse, he will definitely pay you off. It also protects the times you decide to check it with an air-ball. Bottom line is this hand is too big let yourself get bet off of it. Exercise some pot control and try to induce some bluffs.

Another problem I see with your bet is a call or raise by your opponent doesn't tell you much about their hand. If you check, the turn action and how the board changes should help you narrow their range a lot, while playing your hand deceptively.

  2. I shouldn't be charging for Tens drawing to the open ender?

  3. You often should take that approach, but try a non-standard line like this sometimes. You'll be surprised with the weak hands your opponent will show up with. They won't have any weak hands (the weakest will still have equity, like A 10, or 10 9) in their range if you c-bet and are called or raised.

The key difference here is that you are not "slow-playing", which is what most players at these stakes will see it as, but rather controlling the pot with a good but not great hand.

Just a suggestion. Not saying it is necessarily right or wrong.

  4. Thanks - and makes sense. The problem, lately, has been when I take the sort of line you describe; cbetting the turn / river instead of flop / turn, I'm usually getting sucked out on. I know I shouldn't let past results reflect play on the current hand. I in fact moved down in stakes because I [personally - not my bankroll] can't handle the huge swings lately.

  5. I'm guilty of bloating pots as well.

    As played I fold
