I just love J9s. I'm surprised to see villain's hand, but not surprised with the result.

you didn't have immediate odds on the turn bet to call, did you?
ReplyDelete$41.70 / $14.45 = 2.89:1 odds, means you need need to win about 26% of the time to break even.
Odds of hitting your straight are about 16% with one card to come.
And two of your outs might be compromised if he's got a club draw/redraw (say AcKc).
Note: NOT criticizing, just working thru the math.

jk. nice suckout.
It's so funny. I love the not-so-often Poker Meister post comments. J9s is obviously my leak hand. However, it usually hits so strong for me. I know it's illogical if you've been reading this blog long enough, but look at the 68 other J9s hands and you'll see that J9s is a nice money maker for me. I usually can get away with calling for wrong odds and get the win regardless :-). Again, illogical. I catch a ton of flack for doing it; it is bad play - no doubt. Somehow it always manages to work for me.
