correction - pair + STRAIGHT FLUSH draw. A 60% favorite over aces! Sadly, only 38% to win vs. his tens. But I'm still getting it in on the flop.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'm calling this pre, though. Hard to play drawing hands out of position vs. a strong range. On the button, J9s all day.
For some reason, J9s has made me a lot of money - disproportionate to the strength of the hand. Besides being my favorite hand, I love the hand types in this range: J9s, QTs, T8s. These are easy to get away from with a TP flop, hit flops, and are well concealed. Moreover, they are on the second and third tier of premium hands (i.e. AJ, AQ, AT) so they are usually not dominated PF when facing a raise because most players are folding out that range.
ReplyDeleteIf this guy is playing a smaller stack, I'm folding J9s, but otherwise, it is the one hand I'm going to play... particularly from a CO raise.
