The 4bet bluff

As I play more 100NL and the players are more regularly playing back at my steals, I'm finding spots where I can 4bet bluff. There is more room for bet sizing (I can bet half-dollars) and players understand steals. Take the below example:

ull Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

Hero (BTN): $183.75
SB: $175.10
BB: $67.55 - (VPIP:35.48/PFR:29.03/ATS:75.0/3Bet:26.67)
UTG: $198.35
UTG+1: $197.65
UTG+2: $167.15
MP1: $135.80
MP2: $114.00
CO: $134.95

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with Jd 6d
6 folds, Hero raises to $3.50, 1 fold, BB raises to $11, Hero raises to $25, 1 fold
Villain is clearly well-versed in stealing. Since he knows how to steal, he likely knows how to identify a stealer as well. His "tell," though, is his 3bet percentage. Gimme a break! Easy 4-bet bluff!

Final Pot: $22.50
Hero wins $22.50

  1. were you calling if he shoved? You would be getting about 2:1

that's the problem with that 4bet bluff. If he has it, or goes nuts with A10 or something, you almost have to call off.
