Stealing from the BB + WTF hand

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

SB: $68.05
Hero (BB): $100.30
UTG: $69.70
UTG+1: $7.95
UTG+2: $17.45
MP1: $56.45
MP2: $85.25
CO: $73.10
BTN: $155.05

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with 5h Qh
7 folds, SB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.50, SB calls $1
Standard. Not a "steal" situation from the textbook sense, but on occasion, I will "steal" out of the BB. Not many players are doing this, but I think it gets you a bunch of automatic "wins":
  • You are playing a larger pot, in position
  • Many SBs limp weak hands and figure they're going to see a "cheap" flop
  • It is against the standard stream of play; most blind v. blind battles are for the posted blinds (i.e. 2x BB)
Flop: ($3.00) 4h 9h 8c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, SB calls $3
Standard cbet, but I'm not going away here, with the flush draw.

Turn: ($9.00) 3h (2 players)
SB bets $5, Hero calls $5
Okay? A $5 lead? Hmmm...

River: ($19.00) 5s (2 players)
SB bets $58.55 all in, Hero calls $58.55
Talk about your overbet? Is this for value? WTF?

Final Pot: $136.10
SB shows 7c 9c (a pair of Nines) - OK? Losing a $68 (~70 BB) stack over top pair, no kicker? WTF - ON A SB DEFEND?
Hero shows 5h Qh (a flush, Queen high)
Hero wins $133.10
(Rake: $3.00)
