Here's the back story: Villain was running 72/34/3.4 @ 180 hands. This is a guy I had never played against, but will likely seek him out in the future. The very first major hand I get involved against him, I have my AA cracked by his K7s. I instantly rebuy and tell myself to just wait until I hit a good hand. Obviously, I got lucky with my 99 > AKo; it's a marginal coin flip. However, I took $17.48 off this guy for the night. It really pays to have patience against donkeys and not fly off the handle with the first available opportunity where you think you may be good against him. Here are some of the hands we played, culminating in his final bust out. BTW, due to his maniacal nature, the WHOLE table was afraid of him. Fortunately, I had position on him, so I was not all that afraid. Though I did give him an extreme amount of credit, knowing that I would eventually be good and he would slip up & ship it to me.

One thing I've learned about the huge bad run I had last month was that I'm not going broke over pocket Aces. If he has diamonds, GG sir. If he has better than me, GG sir.

Villain had 7h, Kh (two pair, Kings and sevens).
LOL. Idiot. I will get his stack sooner or later. I didn't expect to see that hand. He's not even drawing to a diamond. He calls a 2/3 flop bet with a pair of Kings, no kicker? He has no idea where in the hand, out of position, he is. He has played this one SO passively. What's he going to do if a diamond hits? Bluff? What about the turn bet that he knows I'm going to make - particularly if he doesn't hit 1 of the 5 cards that can truly help him? Is he going broke over top pair, no kicker? I realize that he's a donkey cash cow for me.

My first revenge against the cracked Aces vs. Kh7h. Here is what is going through my mind: He has been raising on the button constantly. I am RRing OOP to actually take the hand right then & there. I am not going to lay down against his shove; he had done that before with weak holdings and I think I'm at worst 50/50. He's not shoving AA/KK in this situation; he's going to raise 2x or 3x. I am surprised to see him flip AK. I realize it's a flip, and fortunately, 99 held against AKo for once...

Strip him of a little more money; this is a thin river bet because he could easily show up with a Queen. I realize that I will likely have to fold out to a check/raise from him, but I want to take that chance rather than go to showdown with minimal winnings for my rivered set.

I am the bluff catcher. His bets told me something was wrong and I called him down to find I was good. This is where he began to respect me & respect my bets. He still didn't learn with the rest of the table, and he was able to maintain a stack without rebuying.

Probably giving him too much credit, but I'm not calling a pot bet without AT LEAST top pair. I would imagine, though, that I was good, given his prior play. It's just not worth a call down to find out. Is this a bad fold against this player? I am thinking consistent with the above post; I will catch him red handed in a later hand, and I don't want to blow my stack without good holdings.

Now he's respecting me. MP2, BTW, was a nit. He played 15/2 or something like that. I'm assuming his check/call PF & check/call flop meant under pocket pair. Given his passive line, I'm going to control the pot & stab at the river with my busted straight draw + over. It fortunately works.

Again, I abuse him a bit with a turn bluff bet. I'm not loving his check / call, but I want to continue with the hand to try for the steal. It fortunately works. Again, he shows weakness by check /calling flops & check / folding turns.

Finally, the nuts come to me, and I can't believe that he did all the betting with a pair of 5's into an Ace high board. I was afraid my flop call looked suspicious, but he continued to get his stack in there regardless. Oh how I LOVE donkeys!!! I was very upset that my AA didn't hold up earlier in the night; however, my patience paid me much more than I would have had had I stacked him earlier (He had $10.88 at the time and I wound up winning a total of $17.48 from him throughout the night instead.)
