Easy Peasy on SWC!

Just running through some calculations on my Seals with Clubs tracker and it turns out I ran ~9 BB/100 this year!  Granted, this is micro stakes and "only" a 65,000 hand sample size, but still, not too bad for the limited time I played.

I think it just goes to show how easy the micro and small stakes games on SWC really are.  They're definitely beatable and exploitable.

They changed my screen name from upper / lower case to all lower case about 2 months ago, so my tracker tracked it as a separate user.  I think the first graph (smaller sample size) is probably more telling as it is the most recent results - I've been running like poop lately, and I'm still putting in a ~3.7 BB/100.  I expect next year's run to be a quite a bit larger in terms of sample size because SWC recently changed their software to allow for window re-sizing.  More viewable screens = more tables running.  I'll probably never grind at the same rate I was grinding in the Full Tilt heyday, but it's nice to be back on the grind.

    1. It's funny: I got a friend of mine playing on SWC as well - and he swears its rigged. I think PPP is in the same boat, though he did email me that he had a winning session the other day.

Thing with SWC is you have to sift through the BS of the players. They don't know how to fold to 3bets, making them very exploitable - i.e. 3bet and cbet any flop and they're going to fold nearly 95%. They don't know how to handle raises. They can't read hands. They're like blind mice, but you have to get a good read on them. In other words, you need to be careful not to valueown yourself, which I've done on more than one occasion. Just pick your battles carefully - play zen-like and don't try to swim upstream against a stubborn player; wait to valuetown the stubborn guy and bet bet bet the meek guy.

  2. I actually had another winning session yesterday. Took a decent pot preflop with QQ UTG. Raised to .3. Some dude re-raised to 1.2 and got a caller. I re-raised to 4.1 and both folded. Then I raised QJ in position and got two callers. Flopped an open ender on a 9T3 board. I led with my draw and got two calls. Turn blanked and I checked to take a free card. River was a K. Villain bets 1.5 and gets called by Villain 2. I raise to 3.8 and get called by #2, who rivered top pair with his K5 off.

I don't think it's riggered. Just think I've been running horribly, and not really grinding enough hands. That, and the fact that my sweet, sweet, roll is on the short side just makes the beats more painful....

    1. I realize that you're re-telling a hand and not soliciting advice. However, I can't help myself in interjecting my opinions (gets me in trouble all the time...) Anywho: "Villain bets 1.5 and gets called by Villain 2. I raise to 3.8 and get called by #2, who rivered top pair with his K5 off." You should have gotten WAAAAAYYYYY more value out of that hand. You effectively min raised from 1.5 to 3.8 - the pot was likely very large at this point. Clearly V1 likes his hand enough to lead 1.5. You should raise all in or raise to 5 or some number a lot larger than 3.8. Don't worry about getting them both to call; you're interested in getting one caller. You need to really blow up the pot when you have the nuts.

    3. Good point. I really did not think he was strong at all, which is why I went with just more than the min-raise. Hard to believe he would have called a much larger bet; but, then again, maybe I'm over thinking it. He did catch top pair, shit kicker after all....

    4. So here's my thought, FWIW: You have a guy leading into 2 players on the river. You have 1 caller who believes he's better than the bettor. And then it gets around to you... Even if he's not that strong on the river, it doesn't matter. If you get paid 2.3 for the raise, he's definitely paying more. Moreover, you don't need to get calls all the time in order to be profitable there. If 1 of the 2 call your larger bet 50% of the time, you're break even. For example, if you raise 4.6 and one of the 2 call 50% or better, you make out better with that sized bet. Do you understand where I'm going with that?

    5. Good points.

By the way, speaking of being rigged . . . I've been at a table for a few minutes now. Already seen QQ against KK preflop . . . and KK against AA all-in preflop. IN like 10 minutes

    1. Legit? I don't know. I think China plays a factor into the meteoric rise of the value of the currency. However, the Chinese government has been nonplussed with currency, and recently declared that banks won't process transactions from BTC payment processors. That news sent the currency into a tailspin.
