Earthquake in DC area

First to report it!  I just experienced my first significant earthquake, here in Dulles, VA.

  1. I thought it was in Virginia? http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/usc0005ild.html

I felt it here in Boston too.

  2. It was about 100 miles southwest of the DC area (where I am located). It was a significant event - 5.9 magnitude. By comparison, the '89 SF earthquake was a 6.9; roughly 10x magnitude.

  3. Waffles - you think it's a sign that I'll get my Touchpad?

  4. Maybe it means you're going to win a big poker tournament!

  6. I posted it on FB but not on blogger. Was walking at work and thought the building was falling down. After it stopped I returned to my cubicle and ate lunch; maybe not the smartest move but I was hungry.

I'm debating about Delaware Park this Saturday (have conflict with wife and main car); let me know if you are considering going.
